I’m currently accepting pre-orders for custom, made-to-order kenjutsu gear, including:
Pieces can be personalized with embroidery, including: names, wave mon, and “Nami Ryu Aiki Heiho” kanji. See all items and customizations on the store page.
Pre-orders help me plan production and ensure I’ve got the right fabric on hand.
All items are individually made to order, so turnaround times vary based on project size, availability of materials, and place in the queue. Please expect 3-6 weeks for fulfillment. Each individual piece gets my full attention to detail, craftsmanship, and care.
As a solo artisan working out of a cozy studio, I deeply appreciate your patience, patronage, and understanding.

Have a gi, sweatshirt, or bag that you already love but would love more with Nami Ryu kanji or a wave mon? I would be happy to help. Drop me a line below to discuss placement, color options, and shipping logistics.

Have questions about gear, or want to talk through a custom order before you hit 'send'? Reach out to book a 20-minute call. I'm happy to answer questions about my work, hear what you're looking for, and point you in the right direction, whether or not it turns into an order.
Fabric samples available on request.
"I have an irrepressible compulsion to make things with my hands and just enough moxie to think 'I could make that' about most things."
Hi, I’m Meg! (they/them/she/her) I’m a custom sewist, artist, and sometimes benevolent-mischief-maker based in Michigan.
My work is a blend of craftsmanship and playfulness—whether I’m repairing someone's beloved garment, up-cycling thrifted fabric in the studio, or prototyping martial arts gear for the dojo. I started training Nami Ryu Aiki Heiho samurai arts in 2024 and am fortunate to have stumbled into a wonderful community.
I’ve been sewing professionally for about 5 years, and I love using my varied skill sets to help people feel excellent in and about their clothes. I also care deeply about the environment and people. In my business, this looks like intentionally sourcing natural fibers and sharing about the ethics of garment making.
That said, I try not to take myself too seriously. My workshop is a mix of sewing tools, hoarded & gifted fabrics and patterns, costume-trunk treasures, and a rotating cast of sewing machines for tinkering.
This is work that keeps me learning, creating, and contributing to my community. Thanks for stopping by and letting me share that with you.
Want to support the work beyond a purchase? Two ways to do that over on Ko-fi: contribute to the Community Gear Fund (a crowd-sourced pool to help new students cover the cost of gear), or follow along for behind-the-scenes making, art, and the occasional experiment. No pressure, big appreciation.
