Two years of mentored tailoring work and training in the dojo has taught me that our gear are meaningful investments and almost always worth repairing.
A failing armpit seam, a falling hem, or a broken gear bag zipper are all in my wheelhouse and I’m happy to help (or make recommendations for your diy or local sewist).
What I can help with:
Seam repairs and reinforcement
Hem repairs and hemming
Zipper replacements
Himo extensions
Fit adjustments (taking in or shortening, creative letting out and lengthening)
Adding or moving keikogi ties
Patching and darning general wear-and-tear
What I need from you to get started:
A brief description of the repair and a photo or two showing the damage. From there I’ll give you an honest assessment and my best estimate for time and cost. There’s no set menu at this time because very few fixes are exactly the same, but I’m almost always willing to share my expertise and advice free of charge.
Turn around times will depend on my work table’s queue and how extensive the project.
