Keikogi (Custom, Made to Order)
Practice tops made for range of motion, breathability, and durability in regular sword arts training. Not intended for intensive BJJ-style grappling, but built to hold up to vigorous drills and daily practice.
I work with a range of materials from sturdier cotton weaves (like USA-made ripstop and 11 oz organic cotton canvas) to lighter, mid-weight cotton sateens and linens. They may feel slightly stiff at first, but soften up with washing. The collar is lightly padded and features 2-4 lines of chain stitching to provide flexible sturdiness and structure.
Looking for something even lighter for an under-layer or surviving hot climates (think linens or dress shirting cottons)? Pop over to the Lite Keikogi Top listing!
These are made to order and sized to fit a range of real bodies. If you need adjustments for fit, mobility, or body accommodation, please ask!
Sizing (select after clicking ‘Add to Cart’)
S/M (genderless): 24" width, approx. 38" length
M/L (genderless): 31" width, approx. 42" length (similar to a size 5 in several Japanese companies)
Need something outside these? Select ‘Custom’ and input your measurements in the note box after clicking ‘Add to Cart’
Customization options:
sleeve length: default sleeve is short (~8-9", hits at or slightly above the elbow), and longer option is a 3/4 sleeve (~12-14", most folks roll it up)
total shoulder to hem length
move the waist tie placement: if a higher natural waistline, please ask about raising the waist ties 1-2" for a better fit.
Optional Add-ons:
Add a chest tie
Obi bundle: Save $10 when you add an obi to a hakama, gi, or nobokama pre-order. Specify length+fabric on the Custom Obi page, and the discount will be automatically applied at checkout.
Materials: 100% cotton duck canvas or organic cotton canvas. Often pre-washed, or with a low shrink rate of 2–5%.
Care: for the best lifespan of natural fibers use cold/cool wash, low heat tumble or hang dry, and iron as needed.
